Aldeburgh Festival 2022

In 2022 the Aldeburgh Festival is back with an especially extended, 24-day celebration of music and the arts. Time hasn’t stopped over the last two years, but our sense of time and its regular rhythms do seem to have been disrupted. The disappearance of time is a key element in Tom Coult and Alice Birch’s opera, Violet, which opens the Festival, and running out of time is the motivation for a number of large-scale works about the climate crisis.

Anna is thrilled to be performing not one, but two organ recitals as part of Aldeburgh Festival 2022. The first of which will take place in Snape Maltings Concert Hall and feature her transcription of Britten's Four Sea Interludes and music by Elgar, Messiaen, Kerensa Briggs, Cheryl Frances-Hoad and Owain Park. On Saturday June 25th, Anna will perform a programme featuring JS Bach's Fuga Sopra il Magnificat, Sarah MacDonald's Trio on Attende Domineand, Melissa Dunphy's Rorate Coeli, Ghislaine Reece-Trapp's In Paradisum and more at Orford Church.

Programming strands include Britten and Women and a celebration of the Britten Pears Young Artist Programme at 50, and there are also events marking the Platinum Jubilee of HM The Queen. Other featured artists include violinist Nicola Benedetti, Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective, cellist Laura van der Heijden, percussionist Vivi Vassileva, and composer and conductor Ryan Wigglesworth.
