About the event
In a rare live performance, firmly established household name and one of the UK’s most beloved musicians, Alison Balsom brings her typical flare and stellar sounds to music adapted for trumpet. As much at home in the interpretation of Albinoni and J S Bach’s glorious Baroque melodies as she is in the colourful contemporary world of Owain Park, Balsom never ceases to find something new in the music she plays.
Known for her technical mastery and tremendous musicianship, Balsom finds a match in fast-rising star Anna Lapwood: conductor, broadcaster and ‘the new doyenne of the organ world’ (Music Web International). Together they’ll offer fresh insight into musical arrangements that show off their instruments in a new light. On second thoughts, perhaps the roof will come off completely.Programme to include
Music by Johann Sebastian Bach, Tomaso Albinoni, Claude Debussy and Owain Park
